
The Midway School restoration is almost finished! Here's what's been accomplished so far:
> New replica front porch has been built and new flooring installed.
> Exterior has been prepared for final painting.
> New, custom-made doors and hardware have been installed
> Original windows have been restored and replaced in building.
> Interior cabinetry -- original and replicated -- has been finished and installed.
> New front chalkboard has been built and hung.
> Building has been wired for electricity and lighting.
> Local, historic school light fixtures have been installed.
> Interior has been painted to one of the early original colors.
> Doghouse built to house the heating system and electric panel (based on original doghouse that
was located in the back of the schoolhouse).
Left to go...
> Original Midway School sign is undergoing restoration and will be rehung in original location.
> Exterior painting.
> Installing slate blackboards.
> Clean original floor.
> Install brick chimney.
> Return wood buring stove to it original location in the schoolhouse.
> Bring in original furniture and school desks.
